Daiwa Morethan Demon Blood 94MLX 9-10ft Not applicable Bass Rod Sea Fishing

A superb essentially mint example of the highly regarded Daiwa Morethan Demon Blood 94MLX, a discontinued Japanese-market seabass rod with a particularly strong following among UK and European bass fishermen.

At 9'4" and only around 137g, with a 7–35g lure rating, the 94MLX offers an unusually useful combination of length, low weight and lure range. It is particularly well suited to shore-based bass fishing, where the extra length is useful for casting distance, working lures at range and dealing with higher banks, while the exceptionally light overall weight makes it comfortable to fish for long sessions.

The responsive, progressive tip also makes the rod very well suited to surface lure techniques, including walking-the-dog style topwater fishing. Despite its length, the low weight and responsive tip make working surface lures much less tiring than might be expected from a 9'4" rod.

The 94MLX was designed around Daiwa's Demon concept, combining a fast-taper design with a notably responsive tip and a powerful lower section. Daiwa specifically described it as capable of casting 12cm minnows while retaining the softer tip associated with the Demon series.

The rod is in exceptional condition, with no marks or scratches to the blank or fittings that I can find. The handle is exceptionally clean, with no scratches, dents or pieces of foam missing. There are only very slight handling marks/dirt to the foam from storage and handling.

The screw-down reel fitting operates perfectly.

The ferrule fit is tight and secure, with plenty of gap remaining at the joint, showing very little evidence of wear.

The rod is supplied with its original Daiwa rod bag.

The Demon Blood has a strong following among knowledgeable UK and European bass fishermen, and it is becoming increasingly difficult to find a rod offering this particular combination of 9'4" length, very low weight and 7–35g casting range. There is little directly comparable currently available at this sort of price point.

The rod is fitted with high-quality titanium-frame Fuji SiC guides, making it particularly well suited to use with modern PE braided lines.
